A New Member Joins Freetech's FVR60 Series: Satellite Radar Sets for Mass Production
share
Following the mid-May global debut of the FVR60_EO - an 8T8R edge-architecture 4D imaging millimeter-wave radar - Freetech's radar product line has secured another major breakthrough. The satellite radar architecture product, FVR60_SO (8T8R), is about to enter the mass production stage, while the FVR60_SD (16T16R) has successfully moved into a critical phase of engineering development. As the automotive millimeter-wave radar industry rapidly transitions from traditional radar to imaging radar and satellite radar architectures, the Fuxing FVR60 series will provide a more competitive perception solution for intelligent driving assistance.
Split Satellite Architecture: Unlocking Domain Controller Computing Power
The FVR60 satellite radar utilizes an innovative split architecture that decouples the radar's front-end from its back-end algorithms. The physical sensor retains only the RF transceiver and the antenna array functions, while algorithms for signal processing, point cloud generation, and object detection are shifted upward to the domain controller.
Leveraging the high computing power in domain controller chips, the satellite radar is able to execute more complex beamforming and super-resolution algorithms. This significantly enhances the perception performance of the satellite radar and enables over-the-air (OTA) updates to radar performance without hardware replacements. Concurrently, it shares computing resources with vision and Lidar systems, effectively reducing overall system costs.

Dual-Track Strategy: Precisely Targeting Diverse Market Demands
As a leading domestic enterprise that pioneered the market layout and mass production of 4D imaging radar, Freetech has keenly captured market trends. Following the launch of the FVR60 edge-architecture radar, the company has simultaneously completed the technical closed loop for its satellite radar solutions. The satellite radar series offers two targeted products:
The FVR60_SO (8T8R) features an 8T8R antenna configuration with enhanced detection performance, generating a maximum of 4,096 point clouds per single frame. Benefitted from economies of scale and high cost-efficiency, it provides OEMs with high-quality, imaging-level perception capability to meet safety requirements in highway pilot and complex urban scenarios navigation.
The FVR60_SD (16T16R) utilizes a massive 16T16R antenna array, generating over 10,000 point clouds per single frame. Both its point cloud density and detection range have reached industry-leading levels. Currently, the development of this radar is progressing smoothly, and it will serve as an "imaging quality" radar perception foundation for high level intelligent driving.
Both products come with a complete SDK development kit and support two data formats: raw point clouds and object lists output, facilitating multi-sensor fusion and subsequent development for OEMs. Furthermore, they are compatible with both forward looking + corner radar deployments as well as forward looking + four corner radar surround view confirgurations, achieving comprehensive 360° environmental perception.
Continuous Evolution: Moving from Edge Architecture to Satellite Radar
One month ago, Freetech joined forces with Infineon to launch the global debut of the FVR60_EO - an 8T8R edge-architecture 4D imaging millimeter-wave radar - setting a new industry benchmark. Today, with its satellite radar poised for mass production, this natural extension and evolution from Freetech's technical platform further consolidates the company's advantage as the first mover in the millimeter-wave radar domain. It also provides OEMs with a smooth upgrade path from traditional radar to imaging-level, software-defined radar.
On the ODIN 3.5 intelligent platform, Freetech achieves simultaneous radar signal processing alongside deep fusion of radar and camera signals directly within the domain controller. Through this, the company delivers a highly competitive and cost-effective product portfolio, providing integrated driving-parking HNOA + CNOA product solutions that meet the mandatory national safety standards for combined driver assistance systems in intelligent connected vehicles.
Looking forward, Freetech will continue to deepen cooperation with its ecosystem partners. Powered by a comprehensive radar product matrix tailored for different clients, vehicle models, and electrical/electronic (E/E) architectures, the company remains dedicated to driving intelligent driving assistance toward a safer, smarter, and more efficient future.
